U.S. Royal redline tires are made in the USA in the original molds and backed by our life of the tread warranty. Redline tires were very popular for mid-to-late 1960s muscle cars and pony cars, such as the Ford Mustang and Pontiac GTO. This product features a genuine redline sidewall style, sometimes known as a red stripe, due to the thin 3/8-inch strip rubber. This means that the red rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. Redline tires hit the American automobile market in 1964 with the introduction of the Pontiac GTO and remained a popular muscle car tire until around 1970. Dual redline tires (two red stripes) were an option on Ford Mustangs, and are now reproduced in original bias ply, bias look radial as well as radial construction. Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement. Bias ply tires are the most authentic choice for classic car restorations and traditional hot rod builds. Coker Tire offers a huge variety of bias ply tires for many applications.

The United States Rubber Company, established in 1892 in Naugatuck, Connecticut, was a prominent American manufacturer of tires and other rubber products. Operating under the brand name "U.S. Royal," the company produced tires that became standard equipment for many automobiles from World War II through the 1960s.
In 1961, the company rebranded itself as Uniroyal, Inc., unifying its various products and subsidiaries under a single name. This rebranding marked a significant shift in the company's identity and market presence.
One of the company's most notable marketing achievements was the creation of the Giant Uniroyal Tire for the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair. Originally functioning as a Ferris wheel, this 80-foot-tall structure was designed by the same architectural firm responsible for the Empire State Building. After the fair, the tire was relocated to Allen Park, Michigan, where it remains a landmark along Interstate 94.
In 1990, Uniroyal was acquired by the French tire manufacturer Michelin, ceasing to exist as an independent entity. Today, the Uniroyal brand continues under Michelin's ownership, maintaining its legacy in the tire industry.
